These blocks manifest themselves in your body’s muscles, tissues, nerves, blood cells, organs, energy field, and psyche.

Shelly’s task is to skillfully assist you in physically releasing these blocks and increasing the flow of blood and energy to the affected areas. Her intention is for enormous transformation to manifest within you. Making this your intention as well will support and assist your healing.

THE PURPOSE OF A ONE-ON-ONE BODY/MIND HEALING SESSION

 

Body/Mind Somatic Therapy is specifically intended to harmonize the relationship between your mind, body, and spirit. Designed to support and assist you in releasing the pain of the past, this technique combines deep tissue bodywork with powerful breathing and acupressure.

When we have pain or trauma stored in the body we need to feel it in order to heal it. Only when we bring to the surface of our mind and our physical bodies those deeply buried wounds, can we begin to consciously release them and experience greater peace.

The intention is always to dissolve the blockages to your life force which then permits energy to flow freely to and from your heart. The results are the realization of your potential, effective change where you desire it, and deep transformation in all levels of your life. In the absence of pain in the body, only love and joy remain.

 

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM A ONE-ON-ONE BODY/MIND HEALING SESSION

 

A typical Somatic Therapy session will begin with a dialogue to discuss your presenting emotional/physical problem. The Psychodynamic overview (relating the issue of the present moment to your history) determines the method/s which will be used to support you in resolving the issue.

Various techniques are used such as breath work, bioenergetic exercises (physical movement to mobilize your energy field), bio-energetic rollers, inner child work, voice dialogue therapy, deep muscle bodywork, and psychodrama.

At the end of the session you will be left for a while in a relaxed state, lightly covered, and with a soft pad covering your eyes. You will lie comfortably like this with music playing to soothe you and to allow your healing to integrate. Shelly will return to “unwrap” you and check in with you.

Although painful things can come up for you, you can expect to leave your session feeling more confident and optimistic, and that you have been held in a supportive and nurturing place.

 

I was fortunate to have a healing with Shelly earlier this year, and it was a truly incredible experience. Being a qualified reiki practitioner and having been on my own path of spiritual development for many years, I thought I had seen/experienced a good amount of healing and what was possible. I now know that I had only scratched the surface. Shelly is a profoundly amazing healer, and it really felt to me like she put her whole being into my journey when she did the session with me. I didn’t know healing like that existed.
I felt myself journey back to a specific time of trauma, but this time I was not alone. I felt like Shelly went back there with me, and stayed with me supporting me while I found the way out, if that makes sense. Trauma is indeed felt as its released, but you won’t take this journey alone. During the session I felt very safe and held, and even though it was an intense experience, I felt very in control.
It takes a great deal of courage to revisit and heal past trauma’s, to be willing to experience something again in order to release it. I’m proud of my own courage, and so very grateful for the endless courage and pure love Shelly must have in her heart to take this journey with so many.

Working with the physical body increases your self-awareness and provides you with the knowledge, freedom, and choice to heal unresolved issue/s.

An active healing session means that you, the client are engaged in some activity during the session. The best results and life-long changes are achieved when the session is focused on physical, emotional, and spiritual balance and you consciously participate

A passive healing session has no requirements except to be there receiving the treatment without giving a conscious effort. Such a session allows you to feel nurtured, soothed, and relaxed. In this state, it is also possible for some healing to occur.
